1Oh Jehová, Dios de mi salvación, Día y noche clamo delante de ti.

2Llegue mi oración a tu presencia; Inclina tu oído a mi clamor.

3Porque mi alma está hastiada de males, Y mi vida cercana al Seol.

4Soy contado entre los que descienden al sepulcro; Soy como hombre sin fuerza,

5Abandonado entre los muertos, Como los pasados a espada que yacen en el sepulcro, De quienes no te acuerdas ya, Y que fueron arrebatados de tu mano.

6Me has puesto en el hoyo profundo, En tinieblas, en lugares profundos.

7Sobre mí reposa tu ira, Y me has afligido con todas tus ondas.

8Has alejado de mí mis conocidos; Me has puesto por abominación a ellos; Encerrado estoy, y no puedo salir.

9Mis ojos enfermaron a causa de mi aflicción; Te he llamado, oh Jehová, cada día; He extendido a ti mis manos.

10¿Manifestarás tus maravillas a los muertos? ¿Se levantarán los muertos para alabarte?

11¿Será contada en el sepulcro tu misericordia, O tu verdad en el Abadón?

12¿Serán reconocidas en las tinieblas tus maravillas, Y tu justicia en la tierra del olvido?

13Mas yo a ti he clamado, oh Jehová, Y de mañana mi oración se presentará delante de ti.

15Yo estoy afligido y menesteroso; Desde la juventud he llevado tus terrores, he estado medroso.

17Me han rodeado como aguas continuamente; A una me han cercado.

When he finds no relief from his suffering, he presents three charges against God (88:6-7, 8-12, 13-17). 88:title Heman the Ezrahite might be a sage from Solomon’s time (1 Kgs 4:31), a descendant of Judah (1 Chr 2:6), or a member of the Levitical family charged with singing at the Temple (1 Chr 15:17; 2 Chr 5:12). 88:1-5 The psalmist calls on the Lord for salvation.
